Hi! I’m Sophia (she/her)

[written by a human :]

I’m a product designer and workshop facilitator with a background in Architecture - as in buildings. My research on how children interact with technology led me to study Human Computer Interaction + Social Psychology which sparked my journey into UX design.

In the last 14+ years my design expertise has spanned diverse domains and work environments - from large corporates to start ups across India, Sweden and the US, all with one thing in common - a strong mission and the passion to impact the day to day lives of their users and society as a whole. My strength lies in getting projects off the ground from vision to value while building strong multidisciplinary teams and choosing the appropriate operational processes to get there. I thrive in complex domains - data, analytics, developer tools, enterprise systems and complement that with my love for simple, clean, minimal product design. My ideal role would be working in a small team, catalyzing change and influencing the org culture.

Currently I volunteer in the role of Executive Director for The Joy Of Drawing, a small art based non profit. Our mission is to change the lives of people through art. Before that, at Salesforce, I built and led multi- disciplinary design teams to create inclusive solutions and solve complex challenges for users across Non-Profits, Education and other domains. Earlier in my career, I led the design team at Neo4j.com, creating a graph visualization tool for investigative journalists to uncover meaningful connections in large sets of data. My experience also includes early designer roles at Fab.com and Hem.com, where I crafted intuitive web and mobile experiences.

In all my roles, I have brought compassion, curiosity, candor and grit to achieve the best outcomes for my team, product users and the business.
